although not a busy area, there is plenty to do.
Laide Post Office is on the main A832, on the Ross-shire west coast, at the junction which leads to Udrigle, Achgarve, Mellon Udrigle and Opinan.

Serious climbers and walkers use the accommodation around Laide as a base for nearby peaks. Yet there are easy walks around Mellon Udrigle, Slaggen Bay and Laide Wood.
Two notable nearby beaches, with convenient parking and boardwalk access, are the iconic Mellon Udrigle beach and the vast (at low-tide) Gruinard beach. There are other beautiful beaches to discover on the peninsular and along the coast.
Local cafes provide lovely lunches and snacks throughout the day. Please check for opening times as it can vary through the year. The only nearby café north of Laide is Maggie’s Tea Room in Camusnagaul and the closest café south is the newly opened Oran Na Mara, Drumchork, Aultbea. The perfume Studio and Bridge Café are also with striking distance. For evening meals the recently refurbished Aultbea Hotel offers both an excellent Bar and Restaurant menu. Dundonnell, Poolewe and Gairloch also have Hotels and restaurants for lunch/ evening meals.
Public toilets are located in Aultbea and Poolewe. Local cafes and hotels also offer toilet facilities for customers.
